Sometimes it can be Excel after all

At müller+krahmer, we spend a lot of time and effort convincing our customers that Excel – despite all its functionality – is not the tool of choice for analyzing technical data, especially when it comes to large amounts of data.
But there are exceptions to the rule. We have just made the latest one with an application in battery manufacturing. Here, large quantities of test data are generated in individual steps of the production process, which is still subject to a wide range of changes, and these were previously evaluated manually – using Excel and taking a lot of time. The solution by müller+krahmer also uses Excel, but only as a front end. Our solution stores all generated data in a database. All calculation also is done there. Laborious data processing and aggregation are no longer necessary. Excel only gets the results and is therefore fast. And users can do their analysis in a fraction of the time.
