Retrofit for FieldPoint and compactFieldPoint

They are installed in many systems and we have used them for numerous applications: the programmable automation controllers (PAC) FieldPoint and compactFieldPoint from NI. With numerous robust I/O modules and easy-to-use communication interfaces, the two device families were a good choice for a long time when it came to implementing typical PLC tasks with NI products.

Unfortunately, both product lines are no longer available, which raises the question: what can be used to replace existing FieldPoint and compactFieldPoint installations when they have reached the end of their service life? compactRIO, robust and extremely powerful, is often beyond the budget for small and simple systems due to high hardware costs and complex programming.

Our solution: the Embedded PCs of the CX series from Beckhoff in combination with the wide range of available EtherCAT Terminals enable cost-effective and flexible data acquisition and signal output. And thanks to the generic ADS interface, connection to existing LabVIEW applications is possible with moderate effort. And above all, there is a variety of easy-to-use bus interfaces available for integration into production networks and IIoT.
