Profinet, EtherCAT and Ethernet/IP for NI DIAdem

According to the NI website, DIAdem is ‘… is high-performance software for seamless test and measurement data management, exploration, analysis, and automation’. What we and many of our customers feel is missing is a reference to DIAdem’s measurement and control capabilities, which make the software unique as a whole.

While DIAdem supports a wide range of hardware for analogue and digital signals, the selection for fieldbuses is significantly smaller and is essentially limited to CAN and LIN.

However, since many users also want to use DIAdem to acquire and output data from typical industrial fieldbuses such as Profinet, EtherCAT or Ethernet/IP, our interfaces for Hilscher cifX and netHost are also available for DIAdem. In addition to cyclical bus communication, these enable on-the-fly switching of the real-time Ethernet protocol and bus configuration. In addition, bus-specific functions are available for identifying bus devices (bus scan) and configuring them (e.g. setting the Profinet station name).
