Object-oriented programming in LabVIEW – knowledge from practical experience

Class structure, encapsulation and inheritance in LabVIEW are virtually part of everyday life in LabVIEW development at müller+krahmer. In our long-standing collaboration with customers, where LabVIEW projects involving several man-years of development time are continuously being refined, structuring is essential. Topics such as encapsulation of data and methods of accessing it, definition and inheritance of interfaces, relationships between classes, and dynamic dispatching are indispensable tools of the trade.

So who better to pass on knowledge of object-oriented programming in LabVIEW to users than an experienced practitioner? One such expert is our LabVIEW specialist Marco Krahmer, who is not only a Certified LabVIEW Developer (CLD) and Certified Professional Instructor (CPI), but also works with object-oriented programming in LabVIEW on a daily basis. He passes on his knowledge to other users – in our customer-specific LabVIEW training courses as well as in training courses on behalf of NI, such as the recent course on ‘Object-Oriented Design and Programming in LabVIEW’.
